This little guy loved being swaddled. I could do anything with him – put him in bowls, baskets, move him around – as long as he was swaddled up like a baby burrito! :) We had fun finding places around the house to put him. See the picture of him crying? The unhappy moments are worth documenting too – especially this little guy, since it wouldn’t take long for him to get upset about not being swaddled. It’s all part of his story. I know I’ve told my own son plenty of times how mad he would get when his arms escaped the confines of a tightly wrapped blanket. ;)

You will see this little guy again when he is sitting up on his own – he is the most recent addition to the First Year Plan. I always say it – but I just love watching these tiny little babies grow up into toddlers.

I had the pleasure of posing and propping little Miss G right shortly after I returned from a wonderful two weeks away from home (Williamsburg, VA and then on to the Gulf Coast of FL). It seems like there has been a LOT of girls born this year – is anyone giving birth to a boy in 2011? ;) Though, this mama has definitely earned her baby girl – if that is possible… she’s been outnumbered by boys for a while now. :)

Congrats to your family – I can’t wait to watch little Georgia grow!

These faces should be familiar to you by now. They last graced the blog back in October – he was Mr. Blue Eyes and he was sporting a little skeleton outfit for Halloween. Birthdays have come and gone and it was time for another session. We wandered through the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham on the Duke University campus and found all sorts of little nooks and crannies to use for a backdrop.

The first time I met this family – the oldest boy was around a year old. Then I got to photograph the middle kidlet as a newborn. And then the third as a newborn (he’s actually in the slideshow header on the main page of my blog *heart*). Now he has turned 1 – and it was time to meet again.

This was such a fun session – and these guys gave me my workout for the day, as I had to resort to chasing the older boys in downtown Belmont . And we could not have asked for more perfect weather! Thanks B family for coming out to play. I hope you fed those boys some fried pickles afterward…

Yes – Hickory, NC photographer by way of family traveling from the great state of Missouri *just* for a session with me… Alright, I’m kidding. Work brought the husband east, and the family conveniently tagged along for a getaway. This is another mama from an online pregnancy forum we joined back in 2003/2004. We’ve kept in touch all these years (thank you Facebook!) and we finally managed to get her entire family in front of my camera. Her youngest was almost born in time for me to photograph her when we did our cross-country road trip back in 2008, but she waited just a tad too long and we had to be on our way, heading west from Missouri.

Amber, I’m so glad we made this happen. Even under less than ideal conditions (it was FREEZING and WINDY the day we had picked for the session), your family was such a joy to photograph. I know our paths will cross again in the future – I just hope it’s not before too long. :)

What a long winter it was! Between our snow in January, the flu in Jan/Feb, and then a husband working about 5 weeks straight with no days off – I was pretty much worthless the first three months of the year. We are slowly picking up speed in 2011 at CKP. A new pricing structure is in the works, so be on the look out for that. Now, back to our regular blog programming -

The mother of this little princess contacted me about a session for her newly adopted daughter. I won’t go into the details of this precious little girl’s story, but I will say – I thank God there are people out there in the world like her parents. Melissa and Ray – I can’t put it any other way, but you guys ROCK!
