Well – the calendar says our summer break is just about over. School starts back for us next MONDAY! The last 2 and half months have absolutely flown by. My son and I traveled to Brevard, NC for our last “hurrah” of summer last week. While there, I met up with a couple former classmates of mine and photographed their two little ones. D & M, it was great seeing you guys again and meeting your beautiful children. It’s hard to believe we are all grown up now, with kids, minivans, and station wagons.

I just had my first maternity session in a few months, so I suggested we take advantage of the relatively good weather (lower 90’s as opposed to upper 90’s… ) and do the session outdoors. It’s literally been years since I’ve done a maternity session outdoors. I’m so glad this very pregnant mama, and her husband and daughter, made the trek out to western Lincoln county.

Well, I just got back from a quick vacation to Seattle. The weather, even with rain for 2 days, was glorious compared to the heat of the southeast! Before I left, I had a session with a family – photographing their newest little boy. Here are a few from that session. I know mom and dad are anxious to see some sneaks!

Check out his faux-hawk here. Their first son also had a naturally perfect ‘do when he was this age.

I had the pleasure of visiting my contest winner one recent Sunday evening. Finally, the sun shone for us the entire time, unlike my recent string of outdoor sessions being rained out. We had fun playing with parasols, eating strawberries, and dancing in the grass. Thank you so much, Jody, for entering the contest. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with your little beauty.

These are faces you will see many, many times in the years to come. This mama is the other half of one of my longest lasting friendships. It’s one of those relationships where you can go for a while without speaking and pick up right where we left off… Though we don’t go *too* long between conversations, not these days.

If you have had a newborn session with me, you know that the session goes much more quickly and much more smoothly if the little one is asleep. Well, after a string of fairly wakeful babies, I finally hit the jackpot with this little guy. He was so calm and relaxed. I loved every minute of this session!

He even woke up for me at just the right time, near the end of the session, to show off those big bright eyes.

We had a tough time keeping this little guy’s hair out of his eyes. But I sooooooo sympathize with this mama about keeping those baby curls and not cutting his hair. And of course, it’s hard to trim the front and leave the back (where the curls are) without doing that toddler mullet look. I think I cried when we finally cut Aiden’s curls…

I had a fun time chasing you around your grandparents’ yard, seeing all there was to see. Thanks for giving me a few smiles too little guy!
