The first time I met this family – the oldest boy was around a year old. Then I got to photograph the middle kidlet as a newborn. And then the third as a newborn (he’s actually in the slideshow header on the main page of my blog *heart*). Now he has turned 1 – and it was time to meet again.

This was such a fun session – and these guys gave me my workout for the day, as I had to resort to chasing the older boys in downtown Belmont . And we could not have asked for more perfect weather! Thanks B family for coming out to play. I hope you fed those boys some fried pickles afterward…

I try my hardest to schedule all Christmas and holiday related sessions before Thanksgiving, so I have time to work on my own Christmas portraits and card (and, let’s face it – December weather is far too sketchy!). Lucky for me, I was able to squeeze in a session with my own little boy on a relatively warm Friday afternoon. We ventured just around the corner from our house to an old abandoned farm and enjoyed the late afternoon sun…

Now to put together a card… I don’t know if I can beat last year’s magical snow-filled Christmas tree farm set… I’m sure I’ll come up with something.

…Christmas! Just had to share a few from a session in Belmont this weekend. This was such a treat for me – since I do not “do” weddings, I don’t end up doing many couple’s sessions, or if I do, it usually involves a pregnant mama. I know these two are anxious to see a few, and these were just so fun – I had to get them on the blog as soon as I could! We had a blast!

Whew! It’s been a whirlwind for the Keene’s the past couple weeks. We had to travel to Florida a couple weeks ago due to a death in the family, and I feel like I’ve been playing catch up ever since. Before we headed out of town, I met up with some great clients of mine at Leatherwood Mountain Resort for a session with their sweet little two year old (who I have been photographing since she was less than two weeks old!). We had a great time exploring the stables, watching the horses, and enjoying the wonderful weather.

This event will be held Saturday, November 6. One of my lovely, gracious clients has agreed to host at her home. Indoor and outdoor portraits will be available, weather permitting. She lives just south of Lincolnton and is easily accessible to Hwy 321. Directions will be provided to those planning to attend.

There will be a $35 session fee, and availabilities will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Session fee must be paid in advance to reserve your appointment. Sessions are available on the half hour from 9am – 4pm. Spaces are filling up! Schedule your session today!

Last week, I had the first of the Holiday Card mini sessions. These are short sessions, involving just your kids, or the whole family, for pictures for cards this holiday season, and of course for prints and brag books for gift giving too! The session is $250 (+tax) and includes the following:

Mini-session, about 30 minutes or less, for you and your family
1 set (24) of 5×7 press printed cards
2 5×7’s
$100 product credit to be used for purchasing additional portrait prints or digital files
Volume discounts when purchasing 3 or more card sets

**Please note: These sessions will only be available in Lincoln, Catawba, and Gaston counties. **

For this session, we met in downtown Belmont. I found a perfect red brick wall that coordinated with a scarf one of the kids was wearing. I love urban settings – there are so many different possibilities of location/backdrop!

There are some beautiful places for photos in Lincoln County – one in particular is within walking distance from my house. I drove by this place so often, and I always thought it would make a beautiful backdrop for some fall pictures. Finally – I tried it out, and I am in love.

I think we’ll be seeing more beautiful art from this location in the future.

Well, I made what has turned into my annual fall trip to the Raleigh area for fall photo sessions. My newest clients requested a session on campus in Chapel Hill – and, lucky us, it ended up being a perfect fall morning for their portraits.
